BMXNSW BMXNZ Mighty 11 and Junior Test Team Memorandum of Understanding

The Trans Tasman Junior Test Team is referred to throughout this document as the “Test Team

Test Team Structure

The Test Team shall consist of 2 equal teams – consisting of:

  • 4 male riders aged 11 years
  • 4 female riders aged 11 years

The teams will compete separately against equivalent teams from the rival country (eg boys vs boys and girls vs girls).

Entries

All riders entered in the Test Team must also be entered in, and ride in, the Mighty 11s event.

Reserves

There are no reserves for either the home or away team.

Test Team Age Format

Must be 11 as at June 1 for the Australian event
Must be 11 as at October 20 for the New Zealand event

Test Team Race Format

The Test Teams will race 5 motos against one another, with motos spread over the weekend as best fits the hosting event.

Lane draws

The male and female lane draws work in the same manner.
8 virtual riders are entered into the computer for the boys:

NZ will receive 4 gates and can assign their 4 team riders in whichever manner they see fit to the 4 gates assigned to their country (at random by the computer scoring system). Australia will do the same with their riders and the 4 gates the computer has assigned their country.

A similar system will be applied to the girls with 8 virtual riders and each country receiving 4 gates at random by the computer for each moto.

Note: all attempts will be made to make the “virtual riders” as anonymous as possible so that the gates assigned represent the country instead of individual riders, within the limits and constraints of computer scoring systems and transponder timing systems.

Test Team Scoring

Riders are scored on points for their finishing places in the following structure:

1st place                 10 points

2nd place                  8 points

3rd place                   6 points

4th place                   5 points

5th place                   4 points

6th place                   3 points

7th place                   2 points

8th place                   1 points

Countback for Tied Placing

In the case of a draw between the two teams, countback will go back to the team with most number of 1st places. If that is equal then the team with the most 2nd places will be declared winner etc (and so on and so forth down the places).

Test Team Awards

Boys

The winning Male Test Team will receive the Toshiba Cup.
The members of the winning Male Test Team will receive commemorative trophies.

Girls

The winning Female Test Team will receive the Troy Fisher Cup.
The members of the winning Female Test Team will receive commemorative trophies.
