Getting Started in BMX
BMX is a fantastic sport because it caters for all ages from 2 up. Various club point score competitions are run throughout the year but you can start racing at any time. Slightly more experienced riders can race at other tracks and quickly progress to 'open' competition at State or National level.
Many families participate including Mum, Dad and kids. It's a brilliant sport for girls too! Many elite cyclists (road, track, mountain bike) started their careers riding BMX - so why don't you?!?
Equipment
You'll need a full-face helmet, BMX bike of any description, long sleeved shirt, gloves, jeans and joggers.
If you don't have a helmet, jersey or gloves then ask at the sign-on desk and we may have something suitable for loan.
Any accessories will need to be removed from the bike eg, reflectors, chain guards, bells, etc
For as little as $40 you can race on the day - this gives you a 4 month licence you can use anywhere (except State Titles and National events).
Bring $15 extra to purchase a race number plate.
