2018 Executive Director
Having only stepped into the role during the course of the year I don't really have much to report, however most people wouldn't know that I began working with Martin Ward midway through 2017 after my Confluence journey began. Upon delving into the application at club level I began to understand why Martin was so adamant about using it. It was then that I decided that the layout of BMX NSW's portfolio required an upgrade. At first Martin was sceptical and closely guarded but when he realised that I knew what I was doing he finally allowed me more scope.
This year has proven to be a real eye opener for me, the background of BMX NSW is a complex hybrid of discussions, opinions and decisions. Weeknight conferences can be interesting to say the least. Since taking the role on I have fielded an abundance of correspondence, tidied up some procedures and garnered a feel for what I can do to make the administration side of BMX NSW more streamlined, simple and effectively delivered.
This being my 4th year as NSW Sprocket Coordinator has also given me further insight as to the challenges that our young riders and new riders alike are experiencing. Next year I would like to work on putting together a comprehensive club package for our new riders so that they are given a positive introduction to this great sport of ours.
